Joy That Doesn't Wait for Good News | Apostolic Wisdom Daily Manna

"Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, BSB)

Three short commands. Rejoice. Pray. Give thanks. And at first they sound like a tough ask for a busy morning. But notice what Paul doesn't say. He doesn't say, "Give thanks for every circumstance." He says, "in every circumstance." You aren't asked to like the traffic, the bill or the bad news. You're asked to remember where you're standing. You're "in Christ Jesus," and that doesn't change when the day does. Joy, then, isn't something you squeeze out. It's fruit. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace" (Galatians 5:22). The One who lives in you carries joy with Him. And "pray without ceasing" makes sense now. Under the old order, prayer and offering had fixed hours at a fixed place. That was the shadow. Now you are the dwelling (1 Corinthians 6:19). Prayer isn't an hour of charging the phone. It's keeping it plugged in all day.
