Dissolved, Not Just Beside You | Apostolic Wisdom Daily Manna

"On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you." (John 14:20, BSB)

Drop a spoon of sugar into your chai and stir. Where is the sugar now? You can't point to it. It isn't beside the tea. It's in the tea. Every sip carries it. That's the picture Jesus gives of union. Not a friend standing nearby. Not a teacher giving instructions from a distance. "You are in Me, and I am in you." Jesus says this in the upper room, the night before the cross. His disciples are troubled. He's about to leave. And He tells them there's a day coming ("that day") when they'll know something new. Not just learn it. Know it. After the resurrection and the gift of the Spirit, they would see it clearly. Look at verse 19: "Because I live, you also will live." Think about what this replaces. Under the old order, God's presence lived in a building, the temple. You travelled to Him.
