Hidden, Safe and Held | Apostolic Wisdom Daily Manna

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3, BSB)

Look at what Paul says just before this verse. He says you “have been raised with Christ” (Colossians 3:1). So this verse rests on the resurrection. You died, and you were raised. Both are finished. You died. The old self that tried and failed is gone. God did not repair it. He ended it with Christ on the cross. Your life is hidden. It is not in your mood, your results or your good days. It is “with Christ in God.” Christ is in the Father, and you are in Christ. So you are held in the safest place there is. Israel knew the shadow of this. At the first Passover, the blood on the door hid each house from the destroyer. Moses was hidden in the cleft of the rock while God’s glory passed by. David sang of being hidden in God’s tent and set high on a rock.
