Common, Counted and Covered | Apostolic Wisdom Daily Manna

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it." (1 Corinthians 10:13, BSB)

In every cinema hall, there's a green exit sign that stays lit even in the dark. You may never use it. But it's there, and it's never switched off. Paul gives three comforts in one verse. First, it's common. "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man." You aren't the only one. The thing that makes you feel strange and ashamed has been faced by many. Second, it's counted. "God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear." He knows your limit better than you do. Nothing comes without His eye on it. Third, it's covered. "He will also provide an escape." There is always an exit sign. Now look at the verses before it. Paul has been telling the story of Israel in the wilderness.
