Count It Done | Apostolic Wisdom Daily Manna

"So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Romans 6:11)

You walk into a bank, and the passbook says your loan is cleared. You don't argue with it. You don't wait to feel debt-free. The entry is made, so you live as someone free of the debt. Paul says the same about sin. "Count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus." Count it. Enter it in the books as true. Why can he say this? Because of the verses just before. "We were buried with Him... so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead... we too may walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:4). When Christ died, you died in Him. When He rose, you rose in Him. The death is behind you. The facts were settled at the cross. Now think about the Jewish believers in Rome. The Law ruled them, and the Law's power over a person ends at death.
